2. Operating System & Desktop Environment Nuances
A. Linux Display Server Differences (Wayland vs. X11)
Due to security isolation policies built into Wayland compositors (such as GNOME Wayland or KDE Plasma Wayland), global key synthetics may behave differently than on traditional X11 sessions. FlitKey falls back to system clipboard pasting where direct keystroke simulation is restricted.
B. Windows Defender SmartScreen Notice
When launching newly compiled standalone Windows executables, Windows SmartScreen or antivirus software may present an unverified publisher warning. This is expected behavior for independent open-source executables until trust reputation is accumulated.
3. Third-Party Application Compatibility
While FlitKey is tested across major code editors (VS Code, Neovim), web browsers, and chat applications, certain specialized software (such as virtual machine clients or sandboxed games) may intercept raw keyboard inputs and prevent trigger expansion.
